New Combo DEEP. 3/4" taller and holds our deep metal Small Beetle Tray (not included and currently out of stock).
Our Combo Screened Bottom Boards comes weatherproofed and are ready to place under your hive immediately. These boards are handcrafted and inspected by my husband and me, have been boiled in a solution of paraffin and tree rosin and will last for years and years.
No other treatment is necessary. The finish darkens with age, but continues to stand up to sun and rain. They cannot be painted as the finish penetrates the wood.
Comes with the original white Observation 'Sticky' Board.

These are for 10 frame hive bodies, but can convert them for 8-frame equipment by purchasing a 8-frame adaptor.

There is a Metal Tag covering a hole on the back side of the Combo Deep. That is the Smoke Hole (read more about it) which is wonderful for smoking bees. Using it with your smoker fills the hive chambers with smoke.

If you have irritated bees like Africanized or a laying worker hive, the bees do not see you approach and you have a better chance of calming them (or slightly calming them) with smoke before opening your hive.

Do not use the hole for any type of vaporizing as the hole is below the screen.

Vaporizing must be done on top of the screen, not underneath. The metal screen catches the vapors and will not let them through into the hive.

I was initially introduced to the quality of country rubes product by a local beekeeper and decided to order 6 Screened bottom boards and 6 robbing screens. The quality of these boards and screens are great! What’s even greater is the customer service. Janet was more than helpful answering questions I had. A few weeks after I had made my purchase I was contacted by Janet because I was overcharged for shipping and she just wanted to let me know I would be receiving a refund for the shipping over charge.
