November 7, 2011 Program

We are proud to announce that Dr. Dewey Caron

will be our guest speaker for our November

meeting. Dewey is the author of "Honey Bee

Biology and Beekeeping, " and “Africanized Bees

in the Americas". He currently is at Oregon State

University in Corvallis after 27 years of teaching

at the University of Delaware and hosting the

Eastern Apicultural Society (like our WAS, only

much bigger). Dr. Caron will be discussing the

latest in beekeeping. This is a not-to-miss

program! We are lucky and honored to have Dr.

Caron.

 THE LOCAL BUZZ, JULY 2005
Our very own member, Thom Stasser had a song written about him when he went up against the County about remodeling his mom's old house.  First they gave him permits and then denied his permission when someone compained that his miner's shack was historical.  Thom and his mom's house was outside the historical district, it was falling down, no foundation and draft.
It's a great story, told in this song.
